Dawn over Southern Desert - a megaurchins familly in first rays of a distant sun.
The old sun that is the source of life on ET016, on Earth night sky is only a barely visible sparkle, which light must travel for 469 years before it reach our eyes.
Really a close neighborhood in galactic scale - it is barely 0,5% of our Galaxy diameter. It seems that humanity could never travel so far - but in XXXVII century man colonized this remote planetary system.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is continuation of Megaurchins Canyon story

Megaurchins were build in Poser - their spikes were made from free tentacle hair ( avalable from DAZ3D website - you must login for free products)
The rest is "MADE IN VUE PRO", textures are procedural, sky was build in Vue (this is not a bitmap)

Only very limited postwork was appied to the scene - some low pass filter & unsharp applied localy. Reduced size picture on my website gallery has no postwork.

To learn how to build such rock formations in Vue (or other programs that offer elevation map terrain ex. Bryce) - check my tutorial on Advanced Terrains in Vue.

To learn more about correct lighting of scenes simulating ambient light - check my Lighting Tutorial on personal website.

I hope you will like it - sorry no deer today ;-)) but desert dawn looks almost as good as a romantic sunset over a beach , and megaurchins "haircut" can simulate palms - so a classic scene ;-)

Thank Susan ! Perhaps one day Geourge L will notice me ;-)) - But at the moment Lucasfilm even didn't answered on my questions concerning copyrights - I asked them if I can publish my works containing some ships based on those from Star Wars. Perhaps soon it will be possible to make such films as SW at home. Now I am only limited by power of my computer - but one day I will launch full animation of my scenes.

Beautiful work. The urchins are magnificently realized & detailed creatures & the terrain & landscape are excellent as well. One of the best sci-fi scenes I've seen here in a long time.

Superb work in all respects! I love your Megaurchins and the wonderful textures, terrains and lighting show what Vue can do in the hands of an inspired artist! Maybe Santa will bring me a copy of Vue pro this year.
