Yesterday the infection really kicked in...I've lost my voice and swallowing is very difficult. I've not even been able to photograph my mucus-drenched tissues for you I'm afraid to say :P
However, in an attempt to calm myself down and take my mind off my throat, I read The Man Outside yesterday...one of my favourite plays...written by a bloke called Wolfgang Borchert...and I wanted to share a little bit of it.
The play is about a German soldier, Beckmann, who arrives home from Stalingrad to find his child dead, his wife with another man, and all the doors he can see in life closed. He is alone on the outside...no one will let him in. He tries to kill himself, throwing himself into the Elbe, but the Elbe throws him back out, telling him to come back when he's REALLY got something to complain about. He visits a theatre director, a girl, and the colonel who was in charge. We learn of his terrible dreams about a xylophone player who is death, and his xylophone is made of the bones of dead soldiers.
With Beckmann is The Other...a supernatural Answerer and Optomist who tries to keep him moving on the right path towards light.
THE OTHER: You're losing the way, Beckmann. Come, stay up here, your road is here. Don't listen. The road goes up and down. Don't yell when it goes down and when it's dark - the road goes on and there are lamps everywhere: Sun, stars, women, windows, lanterns and open doors. Don't yell when you stand for half an hour at night in the fog alone. You'll meet others on the way. Come, boy, don't get tired! Don't listen to the sentimental tinkling of the sweet xylophone player, don't listen.
Thanks for viewing.

Cheery bedstate reading? Apparently Wolfgang died at age 26 - (my wife told me she had to study it at school in Germany). He also wrote a short story about the myth of Sisyphus I believe. The xylophone player sounds a sore point !!! like what my bones feel like when I get a cold. I like the metallic grain in the two sheets of pills Sir.. Hope IckII doesn't get IckIIIer! LOL

macro-master:) like Adam said before me, hope ickII doesnt get ickIIIer!
Haroon
Though taking the pills you feel worse?!? - Maybe a wrong prescription I'd say. Me as working in a pharmacy would tell you to get 'Umckaloabo' which is an african plant, stimulating the immune-system. Very good is an element called 'Zink' in german. Twice a day 25mg for 10 days. The enzymatic immune-system needs it a lot!

Your illness has led you to create a very striking image! Love the tones here and especially the narrow DOF. Excellent shot, and hope you heal up fast. :)

Sometimes illness brings the best in us........... illness and goodness are two state to be and this image really goes well with the title........ it really macro emphasises the eeeeeekness of the pills to a person who is already suffering from a swollen throat and is asked to gulp the bitter pill........... bravo!!! ;)

So very sickly... get well, have as good a weekend as possible! Great shot - just keep distracting yourself, and you won't even notice the throat... or eat an entire watermelon and pee the sickness out - seriously, it works!
