Description

Hurra! Finally finished my tutorial dealing with atmospheres, and my sky-package :) It consists of 6 hi-res photos (approx 4000 x 2000), all made by me. I've spent several hours creating the photos, and several hours today updating my website and writing the tutorial.. about 6hrs?! phew... :( I created this image to indicate the grand opening :D... I kept it very simple so I wouldn't take focus from the sky, which is of course is major element of the image. The sky is a collage, put together from 12 photos I took on my holiday in Paris. I've painted out the half of Paris :)... right about where those two rocks are, Sacre-Cour used be... who could have known :)? You can download the sky-package in the freestuff-area as soon as it's approved (if it will be?) Untill then you can download it from my website: www.thomaskrahn.com Here you can also find the tutorial on how to use them Comments and critique welcome :) Thanks for viewing! Thomas I guess Deadhead's new package will be a lot better, but I hope my skies will be useful while we're waiting :)

The tut is excellent. I have worked with dead head's awesome package (beta). There is plenty of room for two approaches each with different characteristics and options. You have made a fine contribution with this tut. The goal is the final image that any artists tries to create. The more tools the better! Thank you.

Great job, Thomas; can't find a hint of Paris anywhere, lol! I look forward to trying your sky alphas, thanks so much for sharing them. I particularly like the lighting on the island, and the smoke from the campfire; very beautiful.

That sky looks wonderful. The island is very good too, broking the line between the sea and the sky. And the birds are a good touch giving depth to the sky. It would be a beautiful scene without nothing to tell if it wasn't for the smoke trail from the dying fire which tells us that something is happening there. Very good!!

I love your simpler images. I know the sky is the emphasis here but the island and it's reflections are so wonderful and realistic. Even the soft ripple of the water all give this a poster quality; you could stare at it's "simple complexity" for days. aaaaahhhhh
