Description

This is my latest "Old Birds" model. Modeled and rendered in Bryce 5. Everything is by me, except for the engines and the tail gear. Both are freebies from the Net that I downloaded long ago from the Net. I don't remember where I got them, let alone, who made them, but I am grateful to those folks.

The textures are a bit too shiny and mirroring i think, the model is well done. Reminds of a Junkers Ju 52 transport.. My Grandfather was board mechanic on one of those during WW2 (He got shot down three times and survived it ). Its a very rigid plane (Once they got shot down and managed to land.. they had a hole in the wing 1 m diameter which they fixed by wrapping a carpet around lol)

Terrific. Very well done! Perhaps someday you will do the ford model so I can share a tale. . DJ's story is added spice to a sweet airplane. Whozzat in the back window? You, Steve or DJ? Two thumbs up my friend

Retired, actually the single passenger is a good-looking woman--the only person brave enough to pay her money and board--which is probably why Miller Airways went defunct! ha! Django, actually I'm pleased that you saw the simularity to the Ju 52 transport as I consciously made this plane a rough approximation of it. That's also quite a tale your grandfather has. I'd love to hear him tell it. I also agree that it is too shiny, which makes it look more like a model airplane than a real one, but I don't have the right metal materials--they seem to either come out too bright and shiny or too dark and dull. I preferred the shiny. Besides, it has just come out of the paint shop. hee! hee!
