Description

Just a WIP until I can get the interior filled in, but I thought you might enjoy the empty space. I'm not usually a church-y person, but I do like a great building. t could be, the degree of humbleness in the same in any case! -*- It's made of a buch of boolean wall and roof sections, replicated. 21 radial lights were used in the three bays. Closely, the same parts as the real thing! The stone in the depressions of the end wall is from the Robert Sinskey Vineyard in Napa. Thanks, Bob! The other stone is from animax.it Thanks animax! -*- Thanks for looking!

Besides everything else in the image,I especially like the stone wall at the end. For a wip it's not needing much left. Maybe the columns on the right coiuls use a bit of bottom shadow. They have an appearance of floating. Just a bit mind you.

Wow.......... Um, I mean...Wow........ Even as a wip this is outstanding, better than my finished images :) It seems very accurate for a Roman Catholic basilica. Or possibly not Catholic, since it's missing a transept... Out of curiousity, did you work from an actual photo? The windows in the cerestory seem correct. But the columns separating the nave from the aisles look a little thin. As for filling it in, early Roman Catholic basilicas didn't have any pews. Anyway, I love it. Can't wait to see the finished version.

I don't think we need to worry too much about ultra-accuracy on pictures like this. It's art, it's conveying the idea of a cathedral, everyone sees that. I really like the lighting in the side passages. Maybe have light coming through the window? Looking great though. Fantastic textures.

There are structures that have been gutted you know... You could quite easily leave this just they way it is. Or you could repost it and I'll love it then too! I'm a sucker for the power of the recurring archetectural elements. - V -
