Description

I am reborn.... TRAVELS IN ALBION PART I - KENT THE PHANTOM MONK OF GREYSTONES In a quiet corner of eastern Kent dwells the ancient village of Pluckley. Recorded in the Doomsday book, generations of people have lived, toiled and died in its archaic houses and tree gallowed streets. And it is death that has brought about its grim reputation of being the most haunted village in England, with no fewer than a dozen ghosts. Greystones stands spectral-like on a dim road out of the main hamlet. The ghost of a monk is said to haunt the grounds, and his phantom steps may be heard on the darkened road - often in the company of the ghost of a lady from nearby Rose Court, with whom it is suspected he had a relationship. The Lady of Rose Court killed herself by drinking poisonous berries - and died looking out on Greystones. This was an exercise in attempting a fearful subject set in the day time. Whilst the witching hours are often associated with images of terror - the light of day can bring just as much fear. The image is painted entirely in MS Paint, with minor alterations in Photo Editor. Paint time was approximately 4 hours ******************** dedicated to jjsmlee ********************

An excellent approach to getting into the pixels. There seems to be the look of water color in the shadows and trees. Nice capture of the depth in reliefs about windows and doors.

You have captured an amazing sense of unease, which seems to be your trademark. I would be very reluctant to come near this house. And what is more terrifying than the spectre of a monk - a juxtaposition to assumed righteousness? Is there more horrible things awaiting beyond the grave then we guess?

This is excellently executed. It has that wonderful oil painting look and it conveys the "ghostly" feeling that you wanted. Well done!
