one of the best models on here!!! i hope people realize YOU modeled every aspect of this model and didnt use preformed models and props. not that that kinda stuff cant be art itself. anyway, great stuff and keep em comin!!

There is such a thing as too much detail, and not only did this creation cross the line, but it also makes the ones created by the pros down at WB look lame. This is excellent modelling and INSANE complexity.

As fabulous as the other (which I saw first) I agree with basswood about how to make it better and I would be unbelievably pleased to see the details added. Absolutely fantastic render as is, though.

Endora... truelly excellent model. You can certainly tell your attention to detail in it. Even thought you didn't design it per se.. I am sure you spent countless hours on it. Great job. That said.. please don't take this as anything but constructive critisim.. just a few thoughts that would take this from a "wow" image to a "holy sh!t" image. The materials you used are pretty good for a kind of warn gun metal grey look... I would take it a step farther... Put some oil/grease streaks around the pistons and moving parts/joints. Throw some rust onto some of the pieces.. get some "gritty" specularity and glossiness into it. Maybe even take some of the bolt heads and make them look like they have been stripped. Put some duct tape around some of the hoses and such.. make it look like there have been some pathed together quick "fixes". Put a ton of dirt/gun powder flash around the muzzle of the guns.. Put some "stiching" onto the chair/seat.. maybe even rip it in a spot or two.. with some padding sticking out.. Another note... I would need to compare it to the actual APU's in the movie.. but even forgeting about going straight from the movie.. I would add a little bit more color.. rusty and gritty color... but more color none the less. Aside from the few brassy looking connectors.. I would believe it might help to add more color... even if it is still "grey".. just get some darker greys and lighter greys going on.. the levels are so bunched up.. you need to even it out some... maybe make the bullets a different color metal.. and on a final note.. I realize this may just be a test rendering and you have plans to put this into a "scene".. but even for the sake of a test rendering.. I would move the main light source.. it looks like it's comming straight from the direction of the camera.. I would move it off to one side or the other.. get the shadows going in another direction rather than straight away from the camera. Ok.. just a few small suggestions off the top of my head.. don't take it the wrong way... truely an excellent modeling job.. just hopping another set of eyes might help you to make it that much better.. And one thing I forgot to mention about the modeling job... incredible detail on the beveled edges... which in my opionion is one of the most overlooked things in 3d... It can be a pain in the neck to bevel everything.. but it's just one of those things that you don't know what is wrong when it's missing.. only that something is missing.. and when it is there.. alot of people don't notice it.. but it makes all the difference in the world. I don't believe I can find one single piece of the APU that doesn't have a beveled egde.. great job.. you certainly didn't take any shortcuts... but my comments about the materials and such still stand.. ;)

you sure you didn't hack into the computers of the matrix modelling team or something?? this looks AWESOME! even though basswood has some reasonable points, i say "bah, this got a HOLY SH*T reaction from me anyway!" :)
