Description

The Marines in the upper left-hand corner are weathering a sandstorm. To the right are Marines in their middleastern home-away-from-home. The fighting hole in the middle is full of water, and is also the Marines' home in Iraq. On the bottom is a true testament to the heart of the Corps and the Service as a whole. I am a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and will be leaving for Iraq. We remember what this freedom costs. Don't forget. God bless America.

Hi, Being the daughter of a WWII veteran, I understand what our men and women are going through. My dad was a Medic in the Asiatic-Pacific ( Luzon, Baguio, Philippines). He has shown me photo's the soldiers took back then. No one can imagine in their wildest dreams what is is actually like. Dad said at 84 he would go to Iraq if the government would let him. dad was one of the men that hunted, found and tried to save the lives of the injured as well as return the fallen. Great Photography! These soldiers are following in Golden footsteps and creating Golden footsteps of their own. Dad- 136 Infantry, 33rd Division, 108th Medical Battalion.Men of the Golden Cross. May there be peace on your way - and be the one who says 'Nay' to an order against human-rights.

Nearly every day when I watch the news and hear people speak of the war or their concerns, I think to myself, how quickly do we forget. I will never forget sitting on the couch with my pregnant wife watching the towers fall. I will also not forget the anger or sadness I felt. I sincerely hope that the rest of America can do the same. Never again should we allow that type of attack on US soil or anywhere else. For those of you in Iraq or those of you that will be going, God Speed, your country and the world owes you more than you can ever know.

Coming from a slightly militaristic family and having a lot of friends going into the ARMY, Marines, and Navy (some for their second deployment) I always think "I may never see them again." With that in mind I'm not a war monger or trigger happy but your deployments are very needed for US and 'them'(the innocents) for this I'm very gratefull that there are people like you that protect US around the clock every day. With it being a brutal and almost thankless job...THANK YOU! I wish you the best possible outcome; to return alive and unwounded. May GOD himself watch over you and keep US allies safe as well as yours.

Hi, Me again. Thanks to our soldiers, sailors, pilots, marines, cooks, etc. To the civilians among us, donate to fisher house. This helps our injured soldiers recover faster and better, and allows ther families to visit them. There are locations all over the U.S. Thanks.

Mambo's comment reminded me that I probably ought to update this. I did go to Iraq, and I did make it back safely. The Iraqis love us, over there, despite what the media is saying. They love our guns and our helicopters and our tanks and the fact that we're not afraid of the terrorists that are tearing their country apart. They want their country back, but they know that they need our help. Thank your for all the kind comments. Please remember that neither I nor any of my brothers would have chosen to make this sacrifice if our parents hadn't taught us about patriotism, duty, and the price of freedom. Teach your children. Teach those around you. If you'd like to thank the military, then remind people that freedom isn't free. It is bought with a price and that price is only paid be men and women who were raised to believe that freedom is worth fighting for and that the safety of our civilians is worth dying for. God bless America.
