Description

This shows the high-relief statues that are to the sides of some windows on the front face of the building. The figures are certainly some water nymphs, bringing the curative waters in amphors. It is unsure if the number of three (figures) actually refers to a specific mythologic event. Note that the disposition of the high-relief figures is a clear influence of the many temple high-relief figures that Chini could certainly see during his stay at the court of the Thailand's king. Also note that the windows have stained glass in a very tight polychrome pattern that recalls the similarly tight patterns of the many varied decoratnig patterns running through on the building's surface. The figures themselves lie on a pattern of background triangles that is identical to the backgroung of the gargoyles (shown yesterday) Thanks for viewing (and reading!) :-)
