Description

"Around the other side of the Earth the shuttle Venture was making an orbital approach toward the station. Typically a shuttle would obtain a precalculated optimum orbit just after launch or after entering orbit of the planet, this was almost always done by the automated guidance system on board the shuttle. The shuttle was then suppose to make a pass around one side of the planet maintaining this predetermined orbit and then at just the right time the shuttle would break its orbit and readjust to match the orbit of the space station..." There are a lot of great images today and this is one of them. I like the diffused look to it.
