Description
While not an exact copy of any of his works, this is inspired by John William Godward in the general atmosphere, colours and theme.
I used V3toV2 so I could use Traveler's beautiful Roma clothes combo, textures are my Graeco Roman but recoloured (both at RDNA), sandals are from the Valkyrie Pack at DAZ, Arabella V2 texture by WyndWalker and her hair is a combination of DAZ Grecian Hair and Aphrodite's hair by Mr. Yamato (Thank you!)
The background started off with the Summer Siesta room to which I added the brazier and vase from Anton's Egypt collection (DAZ), the column and throw from Traveler's Props Club (my textures). Potted plant is from Modualz Architecture Set 1 and the ferns and bromeliads from Transpond's sets along with the flowers in her hand (All RDNA). Free Skyphos by John Malis also available at RDNA's Free stuff.
Thanks for peeking in!

You come very close to Godward's work here. In fact: there's one thing I like more in your work than in his, and that's the mouth. The mouths in nearly all of his paintings look extremely frustrated, tight in an unnatural way. Even the smiles are fake. I always felt bad when I saw his works, untill I read that he's commited suicide, which explains what I sensed. Your Vicky is really female "fin-du-sile" and not a 21st century supermodel. That too is very positive. Only two things separate you from Godwin now, and I'm shure you can master these too: his lighting is softer, and second, his superior mastery of marbling.

One heck of a beautiful piece of art! I know none of the finer things about art, just what I like and I like this.

You don't see much ancient Greek imagery these days. I like it. The work on the vessel she is holding is nice, and I like the expression on her face.

I think this is very well done. I do not know Godward's work, and it does not matter. This picture stands on its own with the qualities it has. I do also take inspiration from old painters – you have to learn from the masters - and for me this means your (my) own work gets better, because you learn, while analyzing the pictures for which you take your inspiration.
