TECHNICAL READOUT - Babylon 5 PPG Pistol Modeled in: Rhino 3D & Lightwave 6 Rendered in: Bryce 5 Finished: Photoshop 7 This is my first attempt at modeling a Babylon 5 PPG Handgun Sidearm for Poser. I used Rhino and Lightwave for the modeling and added as much detail as I could find from my reference material. The grip needs work. I have not mastered all the features yet to perfect the grip. I was happy with the test render so I fired up Photoshop 7 and framed the render for the Gallery. What do you think? COMMENTS PLEASE!

This is very very cool! It's like a snubnosed revolver but futuristic and cool. I wish there were more weapon designs like this on this site.

How about some comments guys? Layout - model work - color - I am trying to find the right combination for a showcase of original models in Rhino and Lightwave. I am asking for some help!

Gun looks great, like the detail work.

Very well done. :o) The modeling on the grip could use a bit more detailing to help make it feel more comfortable to hold. Some of the sharp edges on the metal parts could be eased with a bit of bevelling. I know that this will really impact your polygon count, but it well help with realism (so the choice is yours, which needs to be prioritized, polycount or realism). The background is very graphic and bright, which is nice, but in my humble opinion it competes with your model for attention. Perhaps something a bit more subdued? Just a few suggestions. :o)

Thanks Moebius87 - The grip has always been the problem. I can't get the smooth edges. Working on it. Everyone - If you like great weapons and model detail - Moebius87 is the master - take a look at his Gallery!
