Description

This photo was taken by my mother when she was working as an anthropologist in Northern South America. I "rescued" it with other photographs and I fixed some of the damage that time and humidity had done to it. My mom is 65 years old and this region of our country has become inaccessible. Hope you guys like it as much as I have restoring them. Andres

A wonderful image. The dresses are amazing and the pottery is great. I wonder how it would look if the guy in the back was dropped.

I thought about that too, It should not be very difficult to erase him; I was just a little concern with "manipulating" the spontaneous moment the photograph was taken. I should try it though.

Good job. Would like to know something about the circumstances of these people.

This photo was taken in La Guajira,in northern Colombia; the indigenous people are called guajiros and they live a rather harsh live because of the extreme heat and lack of resources. The facial paint is both make-up and sun protection. They say they are very accommodating but if you cross them you are done.
