Description

This is my dog, Archie. We found out he had cancer last month, and only had one month to live. He had stopped eating for two weeks. For about four and a half weeks he has been on medication. The cancer is about to build an immunity to the medicine. He's started eating and has gained a lot of weight. I'm very happy for him, and he's even started smiling. His tumors on his throat are growing and shrinking. He isn't in any pain, but we will put him to sleep anyday now when the meds fully wear off. He is the best dog I've ever had. He is half airedale and half golden-retriever. It's not going to be easy losing him. I just hope animals go to heaven, because that's were he belongs.

My utmost and most sincerest condolences to you. Dogs are really special. It is a special and unique bond between human and animals. All I can say to you is until that day comes, I hope you and Archie have the greatest time spent and do things together you have never done before!

I agree - let him play to his heart's content! And share his happiness in his remaining days. I have a dog that I couldn't imagine living without. If I were in your shoes, I would spend every waking moment with her. And yes, all dogs go to heaven!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... I am very sorry to hear of Archie's condition and Archie is very lucky to have had you, some people have no compassion when it comes to suffering. My prayers and thoughts are with you, god bless.

Its allways hard to loose a close friend. And letting them rest is the most human way to easen the pain the have, but its also very hard.. One can only remeber the good days to coop with the bad..

Just so you know: The God I know is a loving, creator God, who made everything -- The universe, Us, and animals. He knows of our affections for pets, and He gave them to us as a gift. Animals do not have souls and a need for salvation the way we do, as God's special creation, but it would be against God's character of absolute love to suggest that our pets don't join us in heaven. God's promise is that in Heaven, every tear will be wiped away, and that would include tears of loss and seperation from 4 legged friends we love.

I am so sorry that you are going to lose your furry companion. As a pet owner who has lost some precious pets, I know it really can be terribly painful. I'm glad your doggy is not in pain and enjoy every second you have with him until Archie goes to be with God. Hang in there and don't be too sad.

Archie is sure one lucky pup! To have a family like yours is like one in a million for a dog. Those terrier eyes always gets to me. I have many animals and I know losing them is very tough. But if it means ending their suffering, it is the right thing to do. I hope you feel comfort in your family's arms after Archie's passing. Give Archie kisses and hugs for me. :)
