Where artillery and engines of war have driven the keep, high points hold the castles. Here in America, lack of those items put the Army forts in the lee of a steep hill well up on a rise away where winters were easier to survive.
Lol'artillerie et les moteurs de la guerre ont conduit la subsistance, les points ev tiennent les cheaux. Ici en Amique, le manque de ces articles a mis les forts d'arm dans la lie d'un puits raide de colline vers le haut sur une ation loin oil ait plus facile survivre des hivers.

This is a magificent image. I would like to ask you why you chose to leave the emptiness on the right-hand side of the picture instead of cropping it off (as I would have done). Did you want to show the solitariness of this place? Just curious. I think the empty space works quite well to enhance the solitary feel. Brilliant work!
