Peter Miller is a professional Sound Designer and Image Creator.BIOAlong with director Alex Proyas (The Crow, Dark City), Peter Miller was one of the founding members of the acclaimed Australian film production company Meaningful Eye Contact, known and respected internationally for the creation of innovative music videos, films and commercials through the 1980s.
As well as being MEC's art director, Peter released a number of musical works, notably his CD 'Love Vs Gravity' and the soundtrack album from the Meaningful Eye Contact feature-film Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds
His soundtrack for 'Spirits' received critical praise both for its contribution to the film and as a music recording in its own right. Rolling Stone was impressed enough by his subsequent release Love Vs Gravity to conclude that "... people like Peter Miller are a reminder that on the serious experimental front we have musicians who deserve our support and admiration..." Following the release of his next CD The Violet Flame, Rolling Stone claimed Peter as "... one of Australia's unsung musical heroes."
Peter created Perpetual Ocean in 1990 and more than a decade later his work continues to garner praise. His recent CD Houdini is a haunting journey through the landscapes of dream and sleep, of which the Sydney Morning Herald's Metropolitan magazine declared: "This is the kind of sonic magic that people like Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois would marvel at."
Peter also composes music and creates sound design for film and television. His recent sound design for the hugely successful DreamWorks film 'The Ring' has helped keep many millions of cinema-goers on the edge of their seats. He was also sound designer on Jane Campion's controversial erotic thriller 'In The Cut'.
In addition to his aural work Peter creates digital images and is an accomplished user of U & I Software's graphic synthesizer 'ArtMatic'.
