Description

I've seen many CGs claiming to be Japanese swords. I started training how to handle sword since I was eleven. I'v seen genuine swords all my life. From my point of view, I can say this it is always worthwhile studying the objects thoroughly you want to draw. Swords are so different in where they were made, for what purpose they were made, with what Tatara(iron sand) they were made, and who made them... Incidentally this picture shows genuine Bizen. In swords 'curve line' is most important. And there are fronts and backs. They are different in view of course.

It is a pitty that the resolution of the rendering is not better. May be you could post a bigger version some other day. I partially understand what you are saying since I have trained Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido for a few years now, but japanese swordmanship is quite popular these days due to the movies and everyone wants to do their own render so it is also understandable that you get some strange versions.
