Description

I tried to get the penguin's lighting right, but it was a bit tricky. It just doesn't quite look right. And do imported objects cast shadows in Vue? I thought they did, but the penguin's aint there (even a faint one would do). JoeBlack

If it doesnt look quite right, its not far off. Can't help with vue questions but I do like your choice of colors.

Beautiful lighting - a lovely glow. Looks like an Emperor Penguin.

The colors are wonderful for this! Yes, they cast shadows; possibly the ambience on the snow was so strong it negated the shadow. It doesn't hamper the image at all!

10?!!Wow, thanx!! I was thinking of calling it "Arctic Dawn", but I don't think they have penguins up in the Arctic :) About the lighting, I was thinking for darkening it later in post-production, but that would have been cheating ;) JoeBlack

Nice picture JoeBlack. I agree that it's probably either excessive ambience or glow on the ice which removed the shadow. Did you check to see if shadows were enabled on the light source?
