Description
This was my first real attempt to create volumetric fire.
The texture I used was a free download, which I seem to recall being referred to as "Clay's fire", or something to that effect. I'm afraid I don't know his (her?) full name, so "Clay" will have to suffice. I hope I'm crediting the right person, here. If not, I encourage others to correct me.
In any case, I did NOT create the fire texture, so credit to its actual creator. It's a marvelous texture, with great versatility and the capacity to create very believable flame renders. I've had a lot of fun with this texture...Thank you very much for creating it! :)
As for my use of it (in this pic), I don't think it turned out too bad for a first attempt, but it is very repetitive. Unfortunately, I think this kind of spoiled an otherwise good effect.
However, let it never be said that I don't learn from my mistakes. In future renders, I made a concerted effort to randomize the texture so that it would look more natural. ;)
Ah, but I ramble on. Hope you like the pic! :)

Oh yeah, I saw that, coolcatcom! Good stuff, Chorny...Reminds me of The Matrix. And ketring8, you're the first person to add me to their favourites! Woohoo, cool! I don't know what I did to deserve that but thank you! I'm honoured! :)
