Description
Looks like a lonely place, but a Wizard of the Wind always feels at home.
This is a fairly simple render, with touch ups and details like the foam and lightning added in PS6.

Excellent atmospheric effects and waves! Yes, it may be a fairly simple piece, but it is plenty superb enough to deserve a vote from yours truly.

I love the image and i also like the amount of light that you have added to kinda do away with some detail that i usually look for by the flood of light.

This is GREAT !!!!!!!! Can I pick your brain for a bit ?

Sure. I was originally trying to create a terrain that would look like waves. I used the terrain editor and generated randon terrains using the ridges fractal model. Every twentieth time or so it makes descent waves. I used a Bryce water texture on it, I think Carribean. THe sand is a flat piece of terrain textured with a real picture of the sand at the beach. The rocks in foreground are also textured with digital photos of the ground I took. I go into photoshop and use the offset filter and clone brush to make them tileable. I painted the wizard, lightning, and foam on waves in photoshop, but I need more practice. I then duplicated the only layer (the background layer) and applied photoshop lighting effects (omni centered on the lightning) so the lightning was slightly lighter and the outer edges of the picture were in shadow. I then backed off the opacity of that lighting effect layer to about 35. I was also able to adjust the curves (RGB) to bring in more contrast and sharpness of the overall image colors. After I posted this image I rendered another one at a higher resolution and am painting its details now. I wonder if I get it any better this time. Its usually reasonable to leave well-enough alone. But In persuing my obsessions I am seldom reasonable...
