Description
"Dancing with the Wind"
Created in Maya and MojoWorld 2.0. I like to combine these to softwares and I will probably do that more and more in the future...
I took a photograph like this in San Diego a few years back (that pier was bigger though) and about 6 months ago I came up with the idea of a pier in MW, but I didn't actually create this scene until, well last week. This image was rendered about 2 days ago. The whole pier and the seagulls were modeled, combined and exported (OBJ) - by me - in Maya. It basically turned out like I hoped that it would. I wanted a 100% black silhoutte of the pier so it almost looks 2D in perspective, which it does in real life, and that gives it a very tranquil mood. I also put up a small light to the right to light up the right part of the pier to show the woodenboards. The lights on the pier are glowing slightly - with old and bad lightbulbs obviously :) - and also reflecting the surrounding scenery a bit for fun.
Levels and saturation in post. I also added a 1% monochromic/gaussian-noise to get rid of the clean look and also to make it look like a developed photograph with some grain.
This pier was also used for my 3rd ever Bryce-image - which is still rendering -
"Dimension Maze". The pier was originally created for this MW-image though.
