Description
June 6th this year will mark the 60th anniversary of the Allied Landings on the beaches of normandy" My grandfather was one of the many who stormed those beaches.
He Passed away last year and so won't be making the trip for the first time in many years. The photograph of one of the cemetry's is his, the rest are from various sources.
This is dedicated to all those who lost their lives in Operation "Overlord" especially to the memory of my Grandfather.
"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"
Laurence Binyon 1869-1942

66,033 Americans are Buried or Missing in France. Many thousands more died fighting for France but are buried and honored here in the US. It's time to remember how France has treated us and the sacrifices our brave Americans have made for her. I am not a military person, but I salute your grandfather and his bravery. I place my hand upon my heart and say the pledge of allegiance in his honor. Thank you for sharing, and for this moving tribute.

Beautiful and poignant tribute. My dad landed in France on D-Day and I'm sure he would have approved of your montage.
