Description
For this pic, I created a new meteor, from scratch, and randomized the fire texture by rotating the spheres, one by one, to varying degrees on all axes, to give it (hopefully) a more natural look. Also, this time, there is no reflective surface behind them, so no black mark...Woohoo! ;)
And what makes this particular meteor special? Well, possibly the fact that it's heading straight for my house! Heh, I thought it would be fun to render it aiming right for where I live. I'm not superstitious so I feel completely safe doing this. *runs outside and checks the sky*
Thanks for viewing! Enjoy! :)

So you did it got rid of the cool black stuff. Looks to me like a rock of that size with a fire trail of that size that isn't smoke at that altitude will not only wack your house but every house in North America. Unless you've rigged it and it's radio controlled and will miss earth at the very last second...just like in the movies he-he. Cool pic and Excellent Work! (I guess you might say I like to blab he-he

Well, not exactly. The only reason you don't see it, in this pic, is because there is no reflective surface behind the flame. I tried putting a reflective plane behind the meteor in this shot, and sure enough, the black mark appeared again. Strange. Not to worry, though, I'll keep working on it. And I'm glad you like the pic. Mind you, I didn't exactly design it with physical accuracy in mind. "At that altitude", the meteor wouldn't even be close to burning, heh. It was just an excuse for me to play with that fire a bit more. ;) By the way, if by "blab" you mean you like to talk, join the club. Considering how long some of my messages can be, you probably wouldn't believe how much I try to hold back. :)

Fire trail looks gr8!!!! Just a hint, you should try puting in altlle motion effect at the beginning of the meteor. Love the earth gr8 view. Well done!!!
Tony650
Thanks ketring8! Glad you like it! Thanks for the tip, as well, but I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "altlle motion". Could you (or anyone else) explain this, perhaps? I'm always up for ways to improve and I'd like to try out your suggestion, but I'm afraid I don't know what it means, heh. Sorry for my ignorance but I'm still a bit of a newbie. :)

Excellent work! looks like Doomsday for earth! or part of it anyhow! The fire trail is super!
Tony650
Thanks inkev1961! And yes, specifically the part where I live! I oriented this meteor in such a way that my city is at ground zero. Hence, I would expect it to not only take us out, but all surrounding districts as well (at the very least). Heh, I figured if I have to go, I'm going in style! :)

Hey do you think maybe you could control it enough to enter in one window in my house and exit another, thereby removing all evidence of my bad housekeeping with it? LOL! This is wonderful work! Maybe ketring8 meant a little motion blur in post work? Not sure, but that's how I would do it. You work is really great and I can't wait for more! :)
Tony650
Heh, not without the ensuing shockwave taking your house, your street and every neighbouring district with it, tynana. ;) Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you are enjoying my work! :)
Digimon
Sweet!! You really fixed it good!! And the slight rotation helps!!! Nice work!!! Now get to the basement!!! Lol!!

Thanks Eric, I'm glad you like it! Now run, heh! :)
