Description
An experimentation is trying to create an illustration of the spawning run of the Brook Masu Salmon in the rivers of Southern Japan.
Brook Masu Salmon are found in the Japan Sea basin and is the southernmost species of Pacific salmon. They can grow to 71cm. long and weigh upto 9kg.
As with most salmon they have a freshwater/marine life cycle returning to their birth river to spawn. After spawning, passing fish die, and those that remain alive participate in spawning the following year as well. The young fish live in the rivers for about two years before heading out to sea to return when their time comes.
