Description

We have these friends who are professional glass blowers/sculptors. They do incredible work! On many a cold Winter night, we would trudge to their studio, a big old Quonset hut "Out back". We would bask in the warmth of the crucible, and the ovens. Watching them turn molten sand into art. They offered to teach me how to blow glass, and all their first time students make a fish. So about 15 minutes, and three good burns later, voila!! My first (And only) glass sculpture Have a great Tuesday all!! ;)

Yes this is the first and only attempt, my wife did one as well (I think hers looks better). I burned the left hand, that was the one furthest down the punte toward the red hot glowing glass. Yes it is hollow in the center, which you can catch a glimpse of gfrom the one on the right. Thanks for viewing!!!

OMG!! This is so beautiful!!! I just love that blue and I'm wondering how on earth did u do that!! And that fish is absolutely lovely! Looks like a blue ball!! Fantastic work!! Something tells me that despite the burnings, u did enjoy making this! Am I right? ;) PS: It's the second time I see the strange word "viola" in ur comments and I guess what u mean is actually "voila"! ;)

I am envious! I have always wanted to try this! I think your fishy is marvelous! The colors are great and the lips! Oh the lips are the best part. You want to pucker up and plant one on him.
