Every pic deserves a good critique, I happen to like a lot of the pictures here (including this one). Maybe I'm just too positive, but a lot of people are.

The sky looks real probably because it is. Lighting fits very well. River is convincing. Surface is fair. My only suggestion would be Anger Management Classes and a Bran Muffin. ;-)

hm... egal ob du das da oben nun geschrieben htest, ich schreib das was ich denke und gut ist das :-) Himmel passt sehr gut zum rigen Rest, ich wde einzig das gr dunkler machen, und vielleicht nicht transparen anwenden, dann wds mir noch besser gefallen Ranking geb ich eh nie ab, wenn richtig beurteilen kann man Bilder eh nie, und das Ranking auf rero hat eh keinen sinn :)

da stimm ich xr zu. anfangs war ich noch begeistert, wenn ein bild von mir excellent hat, aber das verliert mit der zeit an bedeutung und ich lass schon ne weile nicht mehr beurteilen. durch deinen kommentar werden bestimmt ein paar abgeschreckt zu kommentieren. obwohl du recht hast, meistens wird hier etwas schmalerei betrieben, aber manchmal weiman eben nicht genau, was einem an einem bild nicht geflt - geht mir zumindest oft so. zu deinem bild wd ich allerdings echt nichts finden was ich auszusetzen habe, so leid mir das in dem fall jetzt tut. der himmel passt von der beleuchtung her, die grenverhtnisse kann man gut einschzen... naja excellent halt, sry... :-/ gg

Why post an image you think is bullshit? I actually like it. I picked it out of the thumbnails before reading all this .... STUFF! Anyway - the sky is lovely, the river is nice but a titch of white foamy bits on the edges would be nice and I agree the surface could do with some work. Regardless I like it.

You know, I really love this image. I think it has a whole lot to offer. The surface work is different and very special and I love the river!

We all have bad days. Take Buzzzzz's advice; and, I don't find a thing wrong with the image...I'm easy to please.

... what the hell. I can't tell if that's blackmail or a request for honesty, maybe frustration at how people vote. I guess I'm not keeping up on this whole affair, I did see the hot20 pic though. About the picture, I'd have to say good surface on the terrain, the edge of the water seems a little strange. I agree that the sky seems to fit well. This isn't that hot20 pic, you did spend some time on it. Maybe you used an old surface, but you put thought into the river and the sky. I picked this out of the thumbnails as well. People are more likely to comment if they like it, there could be plenty of people that don't like this and choose not to comment.

Now, about your picture : I agree with Buzzz about the sky. It looks very real, and certainly because it's a photo of a real sky that you add to your picture. The surface is not one of your best (far away ... if I can say it ...). You did very better surface in your previous pictures ! Pov and terrain are good. Water seems to be a bit too transparent ! Despite your notes up there and the risk that I am taking.... I have to say that I love this image ! The sky is very well integrated in Terragen and fits this scene. The Terragen part is also very well done and the lighting just right. I'm kind of scared of saying excellent .... well here goes anyway .... "kind of close to excellent" !

gut, die Comments der andren sind mir jetzt zu viel zu lesen, hab bei Cortezz aufgeht... Ich finde das Konzept vom Bild nicth schlecht, ehrlich, der Photo-Himmel ist echt sch, nur passt da etwas rein perspektivisch nicht ganz zusammen, weil photo und Tg-Bild in verschiedenen Perspektiven sind... Das Gr der Surface ist ein wenig zu hell, f die eher sturmartige "Atmo". Der Fluss... ja, der geflt mir jetzt am allerwenigsten, der passt gar nicht so rein (sches blau, aber da passt es grad nicht rein), auch ein Ufer knte dem ganzen guttun... Lass den Kopf mal nicht hgen, ich hab letztens auch sowas mit Photohimmel probiert und ich bin der Meinung, dass das echt sauscwer ist, also mach dir nichts draus, wenn sowas mal nicht gleich was wird :) n/r

finde, dass der himmel sehr gut zum terrain passt. aber die surface kommt nicht an deine "alten werke" heran. zum thema bewertungssystem muss ich dir recht geben.

hmmm... bei dem foto scheint die sonne schon rechts kurz vor dem untergang zu sein, was nicht mit den schatten im bild ereinstimmt, die einen heren einfalls-winkel haben. was die momentane diskussion zu den rankings angeht: wer ehrliche meinungen hen will kann ja drauf verzichten. verstehe deshalb die ganze diskussion nicht. es sind nunmal auch viele neue hier oder leute, die terragen ein wenig ausprobieren. kann mich selber noch sehr gut an meine anfge erinnern (ist ja noch nicht lange her... lol) da sieht einfach jedes zweite bild in der gallery supergenial aus. ausserdem sind die rankings ja auch vollkommen daneben... wo liegt bitte der unterschied zwischen 'Needs Touch-Ups', 'Needs Work' und 'Needs Improvement' ??? wer kann mir das bitte erklen ?? letztendlich entscheidet meiner meinung nach das eigene verhalten und ich glaube nicht das hier viele sind, die absolut keine kritik ertragen.

also ich finde auch das die rankings nicht unbedingt sein msen.besser we es,wenn mann wirklich sagt,was einem stt,um somit vielleicht tips,oder anregungen zu geben. aber meistens ist es bei mir so,dass ich eher sage,was mir geflt,anstatt zu sagen,was mir nicht geflt. so,und von der gesamt erscheinung geflt mir das bild schon sehr gut,passt alles zusammen.aber ich bin nunmal nicht ein anhger von foto himmeln.deswegen ist das das einzigste,was ich kritisieren will.

Don't tear yourself down. This is a very nice image! The terrain and river are especially appealing, and the sky looks very painterly. Composition and surface are also excellent.
