Description

This one is brimming with symbology, if you'd like see what all you can see before reading on, as I'll explain it all. Of course the amber strip represents film. It's full of light, but at the back it gets especially bright, signifying the projector. Notice that everywhere the film isn't is cloaked in shadows, only lit by the light given off by the film. This of course is a commentary on how much our perceptions and attentions are shaped by media. Finally take a look at the upper left corner. A cast bronze statue of Ares is grasping the film like a sword. Now if you don't see what that represents, I'm a bit worried. Dedicated to my Boulder Posse, and Robert X for his surrealistic symbolism.

Symbolism? Awesome image, I love the color warps and the weird materials. Or are they textures? Perhaps we need a "name-e-ologist"? (grins)

Hmm I don't usually go in for abstract much (I'm much more details oriented myself), but I do like this because the colors mix together so well, and it look like it's distorted, which looks cool to me. I also like your message; very true, and also inevitable, which is why a free, unbiased media is so important. And unfortunately ultimately impossible. Heh, I used to work for AMC theatres, aways back (I ran the projectors). So excellent render there (yes, I'm a bit late =P).
