Description
My fourth illustration for the Clive Barker novel 'Weaveworld'. This is of The Scourge, the enemy of the Seerkind. The Scourge believes it is the Angel Uriel (the gaurdian of the Garden of Eden). It believes it to be this Angel and that the Seerkind to be the original inhabitants of Eden who ventured off into the world against the wishes of God. It thinks this because it has been a gaurdian of a wasteland that the Seerkind abandoned for so long that it has forgotten itself and came across the bible story through the thoughts of men who ventured near its domain.
This is my best attempt to visualize this monster, a beast of a thousand eyes, gigantic and formless, who exists within a body of fury and fire. It's sole goal is to destroy the inhabitants of the Fugue, the Seerkind, it's God sent task (so it believes).

i just read your reference to Clive Barkers "weaveworld". im a huge fan of barker, king, and a couple of other "horror" authors. its been some time since i read weaveworld but i recognize this creature in my mind, by looking at your visualization of the "the scourge". its interesting to "see" someones inner picture of a character and compare it with my own. this is an excellent image of that beastie. great work. there is evil in these eyes, and i see insanity as well. good work!!
