Description
Hmmm i did a lot of work to fill the screen around the pear with objects. :-)
Actually, I wanted to try out a relatively new technology called "displaced Bitmaps".
This technology converts a picture into a 3d surface.
For example, you load the picture of a stone wall into your computer, and use this to generate a 3d stone wall.
You can see the result of my efforts at the garden wall and the stones in the lawn.
The garden wall set and this fruit boxes you can download as soon as possible from my site 3dxtra.net.
But first i have to fix the mapping information in this "displacing bitmaps".

Fine scene. The technology aspect is indeed worth investigation and I guess we will await news from you on that.

Yes indee, interesting technology. To create a standalone application that makes a 3D model from displacements. Even when i can't imagine that it always will work. Especially when there are holes involved. Anway, this is a very nice scene and the wall here looks very good.

dlk30341, most of my models are created by myself. There are tableclothes available at my site www.3dxtra.net. (A round and a square one and much more) Look at "Helmut/Freebees/Throws"

I'm not sure I understand the difference between this and simply applying a displacment map in Vue's bump edit function, in the same way you might apply a displacement map to the color mat using Kutter's tutorial.

Excellent looking pear ;) The rock effects are terrific. Giving different light effects at different angles. Very well done, overall image.
