I've been around a fair bit, seen the darker side of life, been burned, but still here. Different than most, we can have a unique outlook on things.
BIO
Originally started work with video production but quickly got involved in CGI in 1991 Unfortunately, almost all my work previous to 1999 (dating back to 1991) was lost due to computer problems, but a few pics survived (mostly the ones that were already online). The earliest renderings were done on Amiga500 with Sculpt/Animate4D, then later on an Amiga1200 with Imagine2, 3 and 4 Later renders were done on a Pentium133 in Imagine for DOS 4, then later on a PII233 with Imagine for Windows. Current work is done on my P4 3.2Ghz with 3dsmax, tho I have occasionally done some work with Lightwave and Cinema4D. Check out my homepage at http://members.iinet.net.au/~multispud22/

Beautifully done!!!

I remember this from years ago and still have it on my computer. I have shown your render to many people who have all agreed it is magnificent work. Thankyou for something I have been proud to show other people what talented people like yourself can do with Imagine....

Very well done Lahl. How was it done [one pass/multipass]and how long on the render time?
Lahl
Well, the Imagine render ithout the rose was just a single pass, and compositing the rose was just a matter of manually outlining the rose and shadow on another layer in photoshop and adjusting settings till it matched as best it could. As for render times, well thats a little too far back for me to remember :)

Excellent model! I'd love to see an Imagine tutorial on its construction!

I can only post 1 pic per day, so look for a much more detailed pic of the flute tomorrow. Unfortunately, I lost that model (along with years of work) to a nasty virus a few years ago

Excellent piece of modeling, and a great image :)

Another stunning example of photorealism. So good, unlike a lot pics with composited-in real items, they don't clash. Like Bobby said, I thought they were both modeled until you said different.
dickbill
great composition

The simplicity of the piece is very deceiving regarding the amount of work that went into it. The excellent compositing of the rose makes the entire piece believable as a photograph.
