Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

WoW!!! So stunning landscape!!! Is not so easy choose between analogic and digital!!! Sure the second one is more easy to use!!! I use a digital camera with just 2 megapixel and sure with 8 megapixel all can make good shot... In the end the really important think is the good energy that you can give us from the dept of your heart... like the amazing energy that is in this full emotional shot!!! Thanks for sharing it!!! Good new week full of rainbow colours!!! :)

Beautiful landscape indeed. I like it.:O))

Such a beautiful vista!! The whole scene is absolutely gorgeous!!! I use digital, a little Canon Powershot 3.2 megapixel. The nice part about an SLR is the manual focus, among other things. My next camera will have both, like the Canon digital Rebel SLR. Personally, I'm sticking with digital! Oh, and V!!

This journey has really been a dream. Such gorgeous shots and views. I do come down on the side of going digital unless you have a very specific love of film or a very specific need to use it. For the average person, I think digital does offer greater clarity, control and flexibility. I love my Canon 300D. And it's already yesterday's news... :)

The clouds have lifted in your pictures! You are above them now! Did you do this on purpose? This photo is perfect. It has light, happiness and beauty.

Superb! Sorry to hear about your camera. I say go digital. I've really enjoyed my Olympus C-3030z and hear the 5050z is great too. Shop around and read reviews. Maybe you'll be able to afford both a digital and a film camera. You could use the digital to find the perfect shot for the slide film. I cannot imagine waiting to get film developed any more though. Great thoughts and photo, I am calm now. ;-)

It must be hard to part with something you have been used to for some time. I picked up a digital cam about 2 years ago and that is what got me into photography. I am on my third camera (fourth if you include the one that got stolen). It's a digital SLR and I LOVE it! A digital will truly save you a ton of time...but you already know that. I think it's time for a paradigm shift. :) Awesome shot by the way! You picked a precarious spot to shoot from.

Such a stunner! V Now I will tell you what I think, I too have an 8 megapixel digi cam, but you wanna know what? There isn't any reason why you can't do both! 35mm SLR's most certainly have their place and advantages to the digital cam. And visa versa, why not have the pleasure of both worlds? After all a photographer needs more then just one cam! I have about 7 or 8 at present and two of them are digital! Send that X700 in for a repair. Just my two cents!

well... digital does have it's advantages but can screw up too or like me, you can drop it, lol! still waiting on my new one... good to have both really... sorry to hear bout the slides... just amazing view!! sigh...

Hehe .. lot's of D-SLR-Lovers. I'm one of them and can only recommend them. But is there a good one from Minolta where you could use all that equipment you already own? Sad to hear about your probs but 40% is a far better rate than what i get without my cam making trouble ;-)
Akinom
An amazing view... starts breathing deeply... sorry about your cam problems!
raven_nightmares
another d-slr user and lover...definitely the way to go rather than the 8mp slr-style cams. This shot is wonderful...a real 'sigh' shot

Amazing...hope you weren't hanging on for dear life for this shot...Excellent my friend!!! :)) Sorry to hear about your cam...if I were you, I'd go for a Nikon or Canon Digital SLR(of course, that's my opinion)! :)

Long time ago: I used to walk around with two, inexpensive SLRs. One for color and one for BW so I could change quick. One with a 55mm lens and one with 135. Got to where I could change lenses on the move.
Maybe you want to do one digital and one SLR? Borrow/rent digitalto see if you get what you need for your work? Repair the SLR?

I am sorry about the spoiled slides. They were sure just as superb as this work.

Wonderful shot. Here is my advice: Digital SLR (Canon EOS 300D - best features for moderate price, 6.3MP (good enough for 20"x30" prints).

A wonderful shot!..... I shoot both film and digital.... Digital's great, but.... I still prefer film.
tesla
WOW!!!WOW!!!Excellent photo!!!You might want to get the one your using fixed, because the quality of the shots you have taken with it are superb and while it is getting fixed go out and buy a digital!!!I am also thinking about buying a digital SLR!!!

Beautiful image ... simply gorgeous. Go digital ... you have the freedom to experiment and just keep clicking! I have an EOS 10D and wouldn't go back to the old system now, I'm spoiled!
