The Alec Issigonis design with hydraulic suspension coupled end to end to fit into a small space soldiers on. I drove a loaner 1100 as my only lifetime front drive experience in 1963. A woman with a Sprite picked up on that. Your pic leaves the rally and Paddy Hopkirk behind with his Halda Speedpilot and shakes off the water to enter the Concours.

Sweet memories: suddenly standing powerless in the middle of the Autobahn / the great heater, only working in summer / the incredible experience riding through a hairpin curve at 120 kph / the exaust pipe, suddenly lying behind me. I just love the 'classic' MINI, though I'm now heretically driving a 'new' Cooper S. Thank you for reminding me...

lol, been looking through your gallery, seeing all the cars.... and waiting for this one! Lost count of the number of Mini's I've had now.... my current one is sitting in a garage in England waiting for a boat ride over here.... Great pic - one of the best angles I've seen in a while, and the DOF is perfect.... technically great and the subject matter is perfect...he he he (",)
