i like the concept but an improvement might be to higlight the object infront of the black hole thus you would make the black hole more menacing.. like it is swollowing the ship.. this way .. it is hard to determin what is there..

This pict is make only by luck, no control on the final result :) In first i want make a supernova (see Death of a Star pict), after i try to put a negative light behind the star and you can see the result
