Description

~ dogs at play ~ I simply accept some motion blur, every part of a dog moves different directions yet there will be points that are sharp; it has an apropos atmosphere for this, sometimes it teaches with surprises, in turns exposing terrific humour or shocking mock savagery. Skyler is playing with Lucy, a shiba inu / cattle heeler mix, and she is a nuclear powered dog. Plain rare to get a clear shot of her, as you see (or can't see *L*) she can escape a frame even as you shoot, we are lucky to see her red collar, as she simultaneously opts to chew Sky's hind leg some more! Lucy can be hard to take, but to really know her is to love her, and Skyler knows how to play with all breeds, he and Lucy are special friend playmates. But if you are going to play with Lucy, you are going to get down to the serious business of play. You simply have to. And Skyler can do the job.

Superb shot! I love the motion blur and the flashes of colour. I understand very well rough play...as Bullitt does look all too often like she's trying to kill me lol. Skyler's a beautiful animal...thank you for sharing this moment of fun!

( my usual but then on this I did more, on the EYE ... that's where ya have to pull out some sincere honesty, I loved what was there, but it wasn't really "there" ... oh I could have pasted on some big clown eyes with long feminine eyelashes ~ hmmmmmmm ... anyway sometimes I wonder if I am okay, the time spent on a labour of love to make a motion blurred noisy digital snapshot look like a motion blurred noisy digital snapshot - oh, oh yeah, that settles that, whew what a relief! )

I like the motion blur as well. It's very effective in this case. The dog looks quite psychotic. :) Excellence!

Great shot! It's amazing, we have movies of our dog "Playing" with her best friend, and strangers that pass by think they are battling to the death!! Play can look agressive, and still be just play. Great image!!
