Jesus Wouldn't Do This!| Seriously, you gotta ask yourself this question: what would jesus NOT do?. It's not about what jesus WOULD do, because that'd imply that we can all do what he did and that would pretty much ruin the whole story. We can't be like jesus by doing the things he DID do, because we lack the God-given talent to do those things. But, we can also opt NOT do the things he didn't do either, because that requires no talent :) Let's rejoice. Our passiveness makes us divine. what would jesus NOT do? Syndroid

I am sure you made this picture to start a bunch of controversy....well...I find this very offensive to me. Jesus gave His life for you (John 3:16) and I for one do not appreciate you mocking Him like this. Jesus "WOULD" do anything to save us...if it meant putting a saddle on His back...He would. Oh by the way...He did take upon His back "ALL" the sins of the world... yours included.

It's not meant as offensive. It's made to make you think. The saddle is supposed to tell you that you cannot carry the burden alone. Only Jesus could. Therefore you have to do what jesus did NOT do. The things that are left ;) I hope you understand now :)

Provocative, but not contraversial. I do like the strong halftones and colors, but the image lacks focus for me.

Great work, very thought provoking!! I am not offended. Those who are, are probably the same narrow minded people that think Jesus had blonde hair and blue eyes. These same people throw around quotes from the bible. as if they were the word of God, which they are not. Those people can stay in their tiny hypocritical little boxes, and whisper to themselves. The rest of us will enjoy the light of free thought, and yes I know I have God to thank for that. But you see, my God is not narrow minded and judge mental, my God has a sense of humor, and curiosity. Jesus had black hair, dark skin, and brown eyes. Jesus had a sense of humor

What were you saying to me earlier? "Either porn pics or political pics and religious pics usually generate a lot of amusing comments." Well yeah. Why do they assume anything that refers to Jesus out of the usual context they're used to has to be offensive, instead of thinking beyond that to what it actually might be getting at? Makes me think of when Monty Python's The Life Of Brian came out, most of the people who campaigned against its showing had never even seen it for themselves or had any intention to, and made the lame assumption that Brian was meant to be a satirization of Jesus - when Jesus Himself was the one character in the film to be played absolutely straight and seriously. The message of the film was merely "think for yourself more, don't just go with whatever other people tell you" and its irony was aimed at those who blindly believe in whatever, not at Jesus Himself. And why is "Jesus died for your sins" almost always the token retort? Still, when this piece is analysed to its logical conclusion, what actually IS its raison d're? I return to my quote of you above. You wind-up you ;-)

I don't object to the image per se, nor am I worried about defending Jesus from being mocked. The only challenge I put to you is in your subtitle, "our passiveness makes us divine". I disagree. There are sins of omission as well as sins of commission. There are things we can infer that Christ would not condone from learning about His character and His actions as detailed in the bible. We know specifically God was displeased with sodomy, bestiality, slavery, murder, torture, and a long list of other things that used to be commonly understood as right and wrong. Your oddly juxtaposed image isn't threatening, I just want to be equally challenging with my own comments about sin, righteousness, and how Jesus wants us to live our lives.

**I for one would not wish to become entertainment for a topic that does not address Jesus with respect.

I cannot evision having a frank & candid discussion on whether or not Jesus had pimples, bad breath or was ever constipated. I suppose that makes me unimaginative, small-minded & unable to take a modern unbiased look at reality & religion, but the bottom line is of respect. Why is it so important to ask the unimportant? Is this as good as it gets for some people?

Many people today have morals & spend everyday attempting to lead a life of virtue. The quality of life becomes based more on the positive attributes of being a good human being, rather than the worship of material items, the good in giving to those in need (in many more ways than the accepted monitary note), as well as hoping to serve as an example to others as to how good God's Grace can be.

Am I narrow minded because I would rather not discuss issues that border on offensive to me? Perhaps. If I did choose to engage in something offensive to me, would my status now change into someone with great capacity & hunger for truth & knowledge?

I do not care how "Open-Minded" one is, if they cannot show some sense of restraint. I would assume Pedophiles are able to present a nice argument as to how "Open-Minded" they are, compared to a "Verse-Quoter" like myself.

Sometimes we become suspect for asking the question, as some questions are better off left unasked.

Myself? Well, I am kind of longing for the time long ago when if one was of religious persuation & lead their life by the rules of God, that they were not considered an oddity or freak or narrow-minded.**

Well, that is the whole point, he did not come to this world to show off his God given talents, he came to set the example of how far we can get as humans by following God's comandments. I'm not a beliver of Jesus (not a christian or catholic etc) but I do think that he was a great example of what can be done if you have the feith and the conviction. As budhists say "become a buddah" not "follow the buddah" Christians are used and tought to follow the Christ instead of being tought to become a Christ.

I thought the message behind "choke" was you had to carry your own cross. You need to decide whats right and wrong and then live according to those ideals. Jesus didn't die for my sins. Jesus was a philosophy (incredibly ahead of time), he died to be a martyr. He was a man and he wanted his message spread. If he didn't die in a horrible way would anybody give a shit about his ideas?

i reall don't now how to go about this. it is okay to ask question but the reall thing is "to be" and what i mean by this is if u r in sink with jesus and chose to follow his foot steps and then u really don't have to worry about asking those questions. Because the once following him almost all things shall come to u and at giving points of time when jesus allows it in ur live. and also plz correct me if i given a wrong comment. and also i do like ur idea

Wow. Digimon, you have a lot of really interesting pix in your "Favorites" list. This isn't offensive in the least. I think that the real meaning behind "What Would Jesus Do" is intended to include what He wouldn't do as well. And yup, you're right, religious pix do often spawn amusing comments. =) I for one agree with Digi, God (and Jesus) has a sense of humor, else where do you think that the duck-billed platypus came from? I don't think you come off as mocking. This is great, though I personally would have gone with a different approach with the actual pic. Whew, I'm late for this one! =)

I am a Christian. As such I find your work here to be thought provoking and insightful. I don't think it's offensive at all. And you're right! Jesus would NOT do that. And neither would I.
