I'd learned I had to put three or four layers of Magic mending Tape over the flash on the little Fuji FinePix 50i I was using at the time (it has an awesome macro mode and manages to save 4 megapixle images, but I find to my sorrow I wear out comsumer grade point-and-shoots in about a couple of years and then they don't weigh enough to make a good doorstop) otherwise it would blow out the close up shots ... I also had to slap sense into it in Photoshop for quite a while to get this result. I never knew the spider was there till I got the image out in the computer.

WOW! Fantastic!! The drama of nature caught! The dark veil is pulled away to reveal the hunter and the prey! Nice macro work!!!

(These moths are tough and big enough to rebuff such a spider. I have another where a really big spider surprises a large moth on a handrail (but it's a really terrible photo in technical terms) and I waited to catch the encounter ~ mighty interesting moment, but the moth bopped the spider back and she had to continue down the rail with her quest for a dinner.)
