I'd learned I had to put three or four layers of Magic mending Tape over the flash on the little Fuji FinePix 50i I was using at the time (it has an awesome macro mode and manages to save 4 megapixle images, but I find to my sorrow I wear out comsumer grade point-and-shoots in about a couple of years and then they don't weigh enough to make a good doorstop) otherwise it would blow out the close up shots ... I also had to slap sense into it in Photoshop for quite a while to get this result. I never knew the spider was there till I got the image out in the computer.

(These moths are tough and big enough to rebuff such a spider. I have another where a really big spider surprises a large moth on a handrail (but it's a really terrible photo in technical terms) and I waited to catch the encounter ~ mighty interesting moment, but the moth bopped the spider back and she had to continue down the rail with her quest for a dinner.)
