Description

A while ago I was cruising through the Carmel Mission in Monteray when I took pic of this painting of Jesus Christ . After browsing through Andre75 's gallery I remembered a few I had taken there as well. So I guess there was inspiration there. Also checking out other's people's work I saw how Jesus can be any and every where at the same time through Roadrunner69's photography. So I guess you could say there was inspiration there. I used a similar technique that I read in a wonderful tutorial written by HorseFlesh to extract and put the words from a painting next to the Jesus painting giving it's history in layers through the image. Thanks man. And not to mention religion seems to be a focal point in this year's U.S. election. So I figured, what the hell, why not do a lil something pertaining. I also noticed other's artist here that payed homage by placing quotes with their imagery. So I imposed Micah 5:15 of the King James..... "and I will Execute Vengeance and Fury upon the Heathen such, as they have not heard." Please take what you will from the imagery. Thanks for taking the time to look and/or comment.

I guess if you're not a Christian, the idea of having a Christian President must be a really scary thing. I can understand that. The reverse is true for me as well. The idea of having my country guided by someone who doesn't look for guidance from God scares me: Although mercifully, I believe God is ultimately in control of everything, no matter who sits in any office in any country on this planet, and that's where I find comfort. It's pretty easy to take a verse or two out of context from the Torah, the Koran, or the Bible and juxtapose it dramatically to reinforce a specific point of view, and both sides do it. I guess I'd just encourage anyone and everyone to look deeper than just a verse or two, and make faith choices based on the whole.

Jeses never preached vengance, but love. He was hard against the people who used the temple to do their commerce, but he preached tolerance against the "ennemy". He was the one who gave food and drink instead of letting millions starve to be able buy even more weapons. The Godhead is Will,Love, and Wisdom, and to the extent we can call Jesus "the Light of the world", He is like the sun: shining for everybody, but everybody is free to hide in their caves or go out in the light. It is not because a someone says he is religious that he follows Jesus' words of tolerance (the samaritan), peace (Peter cutting off an ear) and Love (His whole life, and all His deeds). beware of the devil saying that he is a religious man! See whether he is wise, loving and tolerant. The devil never is. This said: your image is powerful, and I like it.

I feel honored. Didn't know my pictures could inspire such fantastic pieces of art. Very well done. Your postwork is stunning. Maybe i should try some 2D work (there is the reverse inspiration).

I like the fonts, but can't say I like your interpretation of Jesus. However, perhaps he can be all things to all people. Whatever floats your boat, as they say.
