bluliner35, liberal in George Washington's times meant something a whole lot different than now. Liberal now is much different than it was 25 years ago. How about this one: "If you are 18 and not a liberal, you have no heart, but if you are 38 and not a conservative, you have no brain.; Winston Churchill. Liberalism now is being defined as a hate-filled heart. I recall seeing a "journalist" last week, whose name I don't recall, who is a liberal and said Ronald Reagan is now turning a toasty shade of brown in hell because he let 500,000 people die of AIDS. If that isn't hateful and self-righteous, what is?

Who makes the definitions? Rush Limbaugh? Reagan built a huge deficit, worked hard to destroy labor unions, sold weapons at basement prices to Iran (his sworn enemy) to fund an illegal war to contra rebels, allowed japan to sell our military technology (silent running submarine tech) to the USSR without penalty, and pandered without shame to evangelical fundamental religious groups. George F Will says the core of conservatism lies in representing what actually exists. Conservatively speaking, Reagan did all of those things as well. Were they good or bad? Well, Iran used those weapons to attack US ships. Washington's definition of liberal works for me, encompassing many idealogical virtues. By Washington's idea of the term, our current leadership falls far short of his hopes and dreams for this experiment in self government. As far as intelligence goes, here's a recent quote from our feckless (look it up) leader: "There's a lot of people in the world who don't believe that people whose skin color may not be the same as ours can be free and self-govern. I reject that. I reject that strongly. I believe that people who practice the Muslim faith can self-govern. I believe that people whose skins aren't necessarily -- are a different color than white can self-govern."

Actually, bluliner35, I understand what Bush said because I seem to recall a certain UN meeting where some were discussing whether or not Middle Easterners could self govern and they were doing it in such a way that they made skin color an issue. I recall reading quotes (I'm sure taken out of context) about UN diplomats making such statments. As for liberalism, it is different now days. I have been personally attacked during conversations with liberals because I did not see things the way they did (GASP I had my own opinions!) WAY more than I have been by conservatives. Quite frankly, both extremes give me the willies. Whatever happened to balance and meeting in the middle?

Yeah, personal attacks in political discussion is something only liberals do, right? Give me a second while I roll my eyes at your staggering partisan myopia.

(previous comment from me): Ive read your mail, its a shame you didnt wrote that here. I still think the same. Ill answer your mail here: The 1 dollar = 1 peso DESTROYED argentinian economy, and the giant foreign debt we have was in a big proportion because of that. (You wrote) "With your countries violent past I think that you should be thankful that the US hasnt sent the troops to your neck of the woods. After all, it is a know fact that radical Islamic terrorist organizations reside in the tri-border region (where Paraguay borders Argentina and Brazil)" Well, ask to your representant, Im sure an invasion here is no big deal, right? After all, positioning with the UK against an american country in Malvinas (not Falklands) conflict wasnt. In the tri-border region there are arabs, but that is obvious when Brazil is the biggest arab country in the world (even it isnt in the middle east). But arab=terrorist, right? What about the biggest terrorist organization in the world, the CIA? VIOLENCE IS YOUR RESPOSE TO EVERY ARGUMENT? ------ You answered me,(again personally, what are you scared of?): "Violence is the answer! Some day we will rid the world of arab trash.." Now I understand everything. Well, dont worry then if you keep receiving attacks from everywhere (not only arab world). Ive tried to have a rational debate with you but obviously its impossible. YOU ARE JUST AS STUPID AS YOUR MOTHERFUCKIN PRESIDENT. I say goodbye hoping theyll draft you and a terrorist will cut your head out. Sincerely. It will be an action for mankinds benefit.

Did everyone miss what's written underneath the crossed-out "sentiment"? We are all God's court jesters.
