Description
I woke up before 6AM this morning and saw the sky starting to lighten, so I figured I'd go out behind my house and see if the sunrise was worth photographing.
The clouds in the sky were not overly impressive today, with mostly clear skys and a fringe of clouds out towards the ocean some 10 miles away. I did stumble upon the local ducks, however, as they were making their circuit of the lake looking for food and doing what other mysterious things ducks do when humans aren't watching.
I couldn't help but put myself in their place and be somewhat wistful about the simplicity of their lives. Eat, sleep, mate and eat again. Not a bad existence.
BTW, this is the Momma duck from previous photos.
No ducks were harmed doing the shooting of this picture.
Any likeness to an actual duck is strickly coincidental.

LOL, great text! Morgenstund hat Gold in der Mund (Dutch saying in German :) And it's true, early in the morning nature is at its best. Great shot with these silhouettes!
