Description
Our nation stands at a crossroads, to defend the term "All men are created equal", or to create a class of second class citizens who are treated differently from others, even though they have committed no crime, pay their taxes, and are some of the most productive and patriotic of our citizens.
Mid-July is when the Republican leadership in Congress will introduce a contitutional amendment that will in effect bar 10% of all U.S. citizens from over 1200 federal and countless other state and local rights, privalages, and responsibilities. At no time in our nation's history has something like this ever been proposed.
Gay and Lesbians across our nation are uniting in this Gay Pride season to protect the rights of all citizens. We will not falter, we will not fail. We will stand together and never submit to a tyrany of political expediancy. The days of the queer taking the bashing are over. We will support our families, and teach our children that they, and us, are as worthy as any other family.
...and they ask me why I'm proud...

Amen. If this bill passes, what is to stop them from taking ALL RIGHTS from other people? People of Ethnicity, People with Disabilities, or on a Religious basis.
For all you religious nuts, this country was created on the principle that CHURCH and STATE are SEPERATE. Not one. Get used to it!

People are dying to defend this country's ideals. Many of the people serving in Iraq, Afganistan, and other places around the world are gays and lesbians. Of course I'm worried about their rights.
