Description

Peacocks shed their gorgeous feathers every year and grow all new tail fans. It is said the tail feathers contain a hundred all-seeing eyes. And to have these feathers in your home promotes harmony, serenity, and protection. Perhaps this is why the bird became an exotic pet, instead of a meat bird like the turkey, and is allowed to simply be beautiful and die of old age. :o) Rendered in PP, post Photoshop CS. The face behind the peacock feather is goldtassel's PARADISE Island Girl, coming soon. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for looking and comments very appreciated. Cavalaris & HEART

Wonderful render.. Have old fond memories of peacocks, the feathers that I was allergic to and longed for -- no end, the calls for "help" from the tall willows. This is excellent memory render.

Nice idea and very hypnotic eyes - I like it. I seem to recall that it was considered bad luck to have peacock tail feathers in your house - something to do with evil spirits looking at you through the feathers "eye". I always thought that was a shame because they are so beautiful - I think I like your Legend better!!

What's the collective noun for a group of peacock? ... [I can't recall so I'll invent one appropriate to their nature ... erm ... ah, yes - pomposity] Well my Head's study was about 50 yards away from a small urban park menagerie - with different breeds of domestic birds including a pomposity of peacocks - four [a cock and three hens - greedy!] of normal rainbow colour plumage and an albino cock and hens whose 'eyes' were a kind of greyed-down pastel version of the normal eyes. Very decorative ... but the noise they make ... very eerie indeed! Incidentally there was one notable exception to the 'don't eat' rule: the Tudor monarchs were inordinately fond of roast peacock stuffed with chantarelles and walnuts. Sorry, I digress ... the picture is indeed stunning and unusual ... VOTE
