Got a late start on my 1 month vacation this year. Wanted to boat in to my cabin up north. Ended up having a plane fly over and I parachuted in.. When I got there, I knew I was screwed.. Every door was broken or gone. All the windows were broken. Inside the cabin I had a small stack of fire wood, 2 days worth. I took Inventory, it didn't take long. My axe was gone, all the food was gone. No blankets, no sheets, nothing to cover the doors or windows. Kerosene was gone, lamp oil etc. All the clothes I left were gone. No tools at all to seal off part of the cabin. Nearest town was 5 days away as the crow flies or 2 weeks on foot. The Air Force did testing and found man can live up to 80 days with out food, and 5 days with out water. Well The plane will be back in 30 days to pick me up, so I can go with out food. Max snow so I'll have water, but no fire wood to melt it. The fastest way to die is eating snow and having the body burn it's reserves melting it. In 20 days the lake will be froze over, 10 more and the plane will be here. Don't know how long I can hold out. Well I know what the term "Bad Planning" means.. Damn it's going be a cold one..
