Description

I was disappointed with my 2d theme image for this month so I figured I should get back on the horse and try something again, been working on this one since I completed that. I bought the book "Drawing The Head and Figure" by Jack Hamm and decided to put some of the things I have learned to practice so I didnt use any reference images for the face/head. I did use a reference of a hooded cloak for the cloak, but mine turned out totally different than the one I used because I decided to go a different way with it. Still not sure about the background so feel free to make any suggestions on it. I included some small detail images of the face and hair from the hi res version just in case anyone would like to see them up close. Painted in photoshop 7 and Painter 8 with wacom grapphire.

What a lovely lady, and thanks for the detail shots, very cool to get close-ups for those areas. Especially her eyes which are quite beautiful. And great job with the cloak!

I fail to come up with the words to express the effect your work has on me... watching you throw yourself into 2d with such passion and apparent fearlessness, and then to see you accomplish such polished work on top of it all, leaves me breathless with admiration and inspiration...You made a decision some time ago to follow a certain path and you haven't looked back... and while on some level it scares me, because I have not yet done the same, it also screams to me "yes you can"!! Thank you, Tammy. :O)!!!
