Taken with available light and then desaturated, contrast adjusted, and textured using Photo Paint 8.

What a fantastic self-portrait!! I love the minimalism of this and the texture is quite fascinating!! A marvellous piece yes! :)

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. I basically just turned off the flash on my camera, held the camera out in my left hand, and snapped the picture. I then re-adjusted the picture to get rid of some of the lens distortion, grayscaled and upped the contrast, painted out the background (with black), and then repainted the picture into a new file using a texture brush (in Photo-Paint). Whew, nothing to it.
