Description
This picture shows another, very common haloeffect, a left parhelia. This halo (also known as "sundog") is a product of the same ice crystals then the circumzenith arc. There exists also a right parhelia. If you have luck, you can see both halos together, and if you have a lot of luck, you can see the left and right parhelia and the circumzenith arc together.

Well known, especially for optimists lifting their heads up! :) Great shot, this seems a bright sundog! Love your photometeors (Dutch expression), a great but forgotten category that deserves a special place on RR's photography gallery!
