Lovely land-/seascape! It has a very painterly feel to it that is very attractive. The POV is also refreshing :) /Anders

Having been down to these islands in Krabi and working in Thailand for the past decade, I am simply amazed by the natural landscape here. And, I am equally amazed by this image. :o)

My only critical input here is that the quality of your light is very European - very clear and cold. Lighting here is a lot warmer and very hazy. The same goes with the water, the water in the Andaman Sea which spills out to the Indian Ocean is a rich blue green. Even in the shallows you will be able to notice this color change. The boat is a pretty non-descript object that you could find anywhere, however the "sorng-taew" (long-tail boats) commonly plying the routes between the islands has the distinct characteristic of being, long and narrow, with a converted tractor engine sitting on the back sporting a long rod with a propeller at the end that gets dipped into the water. For some odd reason these boats are painted garish shades of mustard, orange and green.

Only observations, my friend. I remain a dedicated fan of your art. :o)

Very nice work Eric. What did you use for the rock texture? Agree with Moe on the light front but still excellent! VH

@virtuallyhistorical: all the textures in this scene are made from procedural shaders.

WOW!! Superb work - I just love the texturing all the way through this image. I don't suppose you'd care to share a brief tutorial on how you made the rock textures would you? They blow me away!
