I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

12 years? It is a respectable age for a dog, but really not enought for a friend. Take each day, each hour, each minute with her as a present!

Positive thoughts abound - we think of our pets as family members (they act better than a few that I know of...). Really nice picture, too!

There is an indian tale...when the great spirit made the earth he caused a crack to separate man from animals, but before the crack grew too wide...the dog jumped over and stood beside man. Best of luck and a wonderful tribute!!

Looks like a nice landscape to chase rabbits in. Dogs indulge us in unconditional love and for that gift they are special among animals.

I really like the way the water slices a wedge through this scene. It really strengthens your composition and helps put everything in perspective. Bravo!
