Description
Sharra felt a slight movement of the air blow in the direction of the giant spider statue and turned to look at Neela in the support beams above. Neela had just finished securing the rope to the sturdy wooden frame of the ceiling. Sharra climbed the balcony edge and prepare for her wild ride. She noticed the priestess below was still deep in prayer on the temple's floor below. This was going to be fun. She kept her eye on the gem waiting for her signal to go. Nightsong moved onto the altar and examined the gem. It did not appear to be trapped in anyway and could be dislodged with a bit of effort. With her body now composed of air she concentrated to solidify parts of her form so that she could affect the gem. She kept one eye on the priestess as in her partially solid form she was nearly invisible but not completely. She worked the gem free by rocking it slowly back and forth in the stone mandibles of the statue. As she lifted the gem from the statue Sharra noticed her signal to go and with a great leap she swung down on the tightened rope. She felt exhiliration as she outstretched her hand as Nightsong tossed the gem into her flightpath. The gem impacted her chest and she held it tightly to her body as the ropes arc began its ascent. Sharra gazed at the gem she held to her chest, her eyes wide with its beauty. Unfortuately, she was distracted enough by it to underestimate her rapid approach to the opposite wall. She noticed almost too late and managed to put her feet before her, but still hit the wall with much greater force than she expected. She let out a gasp as the air was knocked from her lungs. The priestess looked up from her prayers noticing the small halfling dangling from the rope clutching the gemstone. Her eyes grew wide in surprise....
