Description

Still trying to get this writing thing going, I'm quite literally tearing my hair out, evening after evening as I try to think up a decent, long, involving plot. Small snippets come easy, but a decent plotline to span out over a few ten thousand words, not a clue. I think I need to do some more short stories and try and work from there. If anybody has some good tips for overcoming cronic writer's block, drop me a line... I am now probably trying too hard and just aiding this whole writer's block thing. Been reading lots of William Gibson and even found a 2 hour BBC radio drama of Neuromancer on the Net which was freaking awesome (highly recommended). I did this one in an attempt to capture that William Gibson atmosphere. Strange how I said I wasn't going to do anymore Poser and yet here I am. It's either addiction or a desperate need to be creative. Until later friends

This might be a way. Let out your creativity via another medium, stop trying to force that block out of the way.
Excellent image, that scanline effect is awesome! Hope to see more of your Poser work soon.

I like this! on writing, I work on conflicting/contradicting character interests (eg A wants B dead, C wants B to live). add a scenario (eg war), setting (eg c19th france) and your away! then fill in blanks (the text) in the plot..! works for me :)

First of all, let me say that this is an awesome image and looks very realistic! Second is that I may not be a writer, but I am a musician and I too have creative blocks sometimes...we all do really. What works or me is to take a couple of days away from whatever project that I am working on and enjoy life. A mini-vacation, a walk in the park, cathing up with friends, ect...When I come back to the project, I have a rested mind that looks at the road-block from a new & different angle and before I know it, I find myself enjoying creating again. I hope this helps :-)

HAH! I knew it... :o) You just couldn't keep away... and for that I am glad. The image above is done very well, the scanline effect certainly adds to the realism rather than being a distraction.

The creative block you are experiencing now is only temporary, and I know that you are going to get back into your writing full force. If it helps, have you thought about mapping out things the way you've done with your "history"? It may well be that the end isn't clear, but as you set out milestone events (like a series of episodic shorts) it sometimes becomes inevitable where your story should lead.

Super work, I remember that book - most impressive sci-fi. Sometimes images drive stories and sometimes stories and other writings and visual media drive images! I know the feeling all too well, grace and peace jarm!

Very good pic, nice to see you posting again. Don't worry about the writer's block, creativity always finds a way to bubble up to the surface, give it time. The minute you stop worrying about it, the ideas will come. Enjoy life in the meantime.
