This terrain and POV are quite marvellous. I am wishing for a bit more exposure to show the colors and a bit more sharpness to show the detailed textures. Very good work on strata and sky.

Oops - your horizon fell of the edge, left hand side. (Camera pointed toward a corner) Terrain is cool. Lots of contrasting colors, but they seem to lack texture. Use alternating smooth / rough layers & adjust fractal & sharpness. 3D clouds? If so, they worked this time. Good luck!

i like the soft swirly cloudscape, and the terrain swirls add lots of curious detail

i agree with rich2, but i think the sky is great

I like the subtle strata, clouds, and terrain! Agree with above about increased sharpness of surfaces...great work!! Keep it up!

Well, as for the beginner it's outstanding work! Very nice terrain, very good PoV, and very good sky. Heh, you should be careful next time with placing a camera ;) this 'edge of the world' is quite strange ;) Agree with Rich about textures. Your strata is very cool :)

Greg, you are on the right track. The advice given above is very good. Step-by-step, it will come together for you. Be careful when looking for, and setting your POV. Stay away from the 'edges' and 'corners' when pointing your camera to avoid 'drop-off'.

Thanks guys - you're all VERY helpful :) I was trying to get the "edge of the world" to read as open sea - hence the "low tide" title. Will post a redo as soon as I get the terrain fixed for that. So - slightly greater exposure, edge fix, and a bit more in the texturing is it :)
